My daughter and I both have January birthdays, hers near the beginning of the month and mine near the end. After shopping last evening for her birthday we went back and met up with my son-in-law at their place, where birthday presents from them were waiting for me. I opened the packages before we went out to a celebration dinner at
Brick.
One of my presents is pictured above. This exemplary young couple had spent an afternoon together, with their watercolors, in their San Francisco apartment, each painting a view of the
sofa slipcover I constructed for them back around Thanksgiving time. And then they had the two watercolor views matted one above the other and framed for me. There is no other present in the world that I would rather have.
