What a great week this is to not be at my office. The San Francisco library building where I work is 60 years old with huge plate glass windows that do not open and a forced-air ventilation system that no longer works, if it ever did. In the hot spell we are now having the offices will be little ovens. So it is a piece of luck that I happen to be taking this week as vacation time. Consequently I seized the opportunity today to check back in with my daughter's roses in the East Bay. Things are happening rapidly in this heat.
I watered the garden, and I think the lilies look better than usual by virtue of the sprinkler.
