I pursued a couple of less familiar alleys after finishing with Balmy Alley on Sunday afternoon. Above are two views from Lucky Alley. Below, the Mission Branch of the San Francisco Public Library, a beautiful small Beaux-Arts building surrounded by tall plane trees on 24th near Valencia. The sculpture group over the main door is covered with pigeon netting and the main door has been blocked off and unused for many years, yet some significant remnant of the essential charm survives.
Nearby, the two murals below were painted (apparently with official sanction) on the wall of the parking garage of a large, new-built Christian church on Valencia.
