Monday morning turned out to be the best time for Mabel Watson Payne's local family members to all get together and have their annual Valentine-making party. Last year she could just about push stickers onto pre-cut heart-shapes and begin to participate (as seen
here). This year her bigger self was overflowing with dexterity and inspiration, abetted by Grandma on one side and Daddy on the other.
Some of the work produced at the party will appear here soon. This year's complete crop of homemade Valentines was given into my custody to be photographed. After doing that, I return them to their makers, who inscribe them and seal them in red or pink envelopes and mail them with love and kisses.
