These drawings were made in the 18th century by Antonio Galli da Bibiena (1697-1774), designer of stage sets and temporary architectural fantasies for royal and noble festivities all over Europe. He belonged to a family that dominated this trade during the course of four generations in the epoch that ended with the French Revolution.
