A few days of warm weather have brought the garden along so fast that another update is needed, even though one was supplied late last week. Everything is blooming sincerely all of a sudden, like this iris.
Vintage roses, with their dense circular petal patterns.
This red rose reverted some years ago to the wild rose stock that commercial climbing roses are frequently grafted onto. It is now a prolific unreliable disease-prone eyesore most of the year, but for a couple of weeks in April or May it glories in itself. My daughter always prunes this rose with special attentiveness.
Some of last year's forget-me-nots have survived (scruffy-looking, but still eager to flower) in their pot alongside a new Dusty Miller.
