The original plan called for an Easter picnic in the country. But the pouring rain seemed to indicate that God did not favor that plan. Therefore, it was an indoor Easter picnic.
There were hot cross buns. There were pictorial embossed paper napkins from China. There were gifts of bright striped socks. And then there was Scrabble.
Three people all did about equally poorly and one person cleaned up totally. If the Scrabble part had come first, this post could have been called Slaughter on Easter.
After the Scrabble game there were Scrabble towers. This activity was such a prolonged source of stimulation that it banished even the most persistently lingering regrets for the sunny country picnic that didn't happen.
