This afternoon when I visited Dearborn Community Garden (at the corner of Dearborn and Bird in the Mission) the gate was open and a gardener was present. (Earlier visits are documented here and here,) I asked if I could go inside and take photographs and she said yes, of course. The whole purpose of the place was for everyone's enjoyment.
I had never entered the garden before, only peered at it from the outside. Magenta sunflowers. Who could ask for anything more?
Dearborn Community Garden was founded in 1976, I learned – the same year my daughter was born.
A sunny afternoon in San Francisco, with fog beginning to move in for the evening.
