Afternoon Babysitting
Mabel Watson Payne renewed her affectionate acquaintance with my backpack when I came over this afternoon to keep her company for a couple of hours while her parents both needed to be out in the world.
I let her strew some papers around from a folder she dug out of the backpack. This amused her very much. They were not important papers.
Her grandmother had been reading books with her for a good span of time before I arrived.
I brought along a small present of some tennis balls inside a cylindrical plastic case. Mabel Watson Payne liked the tennis balls well enough, but she loved the cylindrical case.
