Red & Pink Day
A sunny Monday afternoon and Mabel Watson Payne took me to her favorite neighborhood baby-playground in Chinatown.
She discovered the joy of collecting sticks, organizing them into a pile, and then analyzing them one by one.
Back inside the apartment she accepted a refreshing bottle of milk, then plunged back into her duties of discovery, opening one of her current favorite board books to the page that shows Grandmother's bed, furnished with a 3-D movable quilt. Mabel Watson Payne very much enjoyed tucking various small paper cut-outs into the bed underneath the quilt.
