Today was my first solo morning as the grown-up on duty while Mabel was getting ready for school. She was still asleep and it was still dark outside when I arrived. But she soon woke up and came out to join me in the kitchen. I put breakfast together and Mabel (still in monkey pajamas) rearranged the refrigerator magnets. After the meal she made quick business of getting herself dressed for school. Then we set out.
