Came across these excellent stills from Chaplin's Limelight made in 1952 with young stage actress Claire Bloom in her first film role.
I remember in the early 1970s here in San Francisco seeing a stage play at one of the downtown theaters, a period piece mounted as a vehicle for then-middle-aged Claire Bloom. She was noble and regal in the part, I remember that much.
What it must have cost, enacting the respectable-type starlet of the 1950s.
