Mabel Watson Payne traveled to the East Bay to see family in town for a visit. Everybody went out for brunch at a diner in a building made to look like a log cabin.
She enjoyed walking on the sidewalk, so long as we agreed to stop and let her examine each crack in the pavement as we crossed it.
