Eric Ravilious : Artist & Designer by Alan Powers was published last year by Lund Humphries. It features many more of the artist's dry-brush watercolors than I have seen in other Ravilious books. Earlier books have covered printmaking, book illustration and commercial design. But there has been less about the paintings.
As a war artist, Ravilious accompanied a military search flight over the North Atlantic in 1942. The search plane was lost. He died at age 39.
