There is lots of new work on the walls of Clarion Alley in the Mission, and several of my old favorites have of course been painted over. I saw a new book from Abrams called Street Art San Francisco : Mission Muralismo. Some of the disappeared Clarion Alley murals are preserved in photographs there, and it's probably true that nobody who paints on these public walls expects what they paint to last very long.
