January
The weather in San Francisco made it easy to go back to my job at the library today because everything looked new-minted. Walked home through the park in the afternoon and then down Page Street where I discovered both large and small sights unfamiliar enough to sustain the freshness concept.
At the same time I started making a photo-series of discarded Christmas trees – people dump them along the curbs in droves – but when I looked at those pictures this evening they proved less promising than I hoped. Not tragic, not funny, just dull.
Poor things.
