Nevin Aladag (above) was born in Turkey in 1972. During the 1990s he studied in Munich and has since established himself in Berlin creating art installations that attempt to negotiate the conceptual tightrope between the influences and traditions of popular culture in East and West.
Both the macrame series (above, made of heavy wire) and the carpet series (below, collectively called Pattern Matching) were included in a recent solo exhibition at Wentrup Gallery in Berlin.
