For me there can be no comfortable way to pick out the finest samples of the early 20th century garden imagery created by
Frances Benjamin Johnston. Earlier groups of favorites were organized here geographically and chronologically, but I never doubted that a final group would insist on inclusion and refuse to be restricted by any narrow boundaries of time and place.
