Sunday afternoon Mabel and I built corresponding towers of blocks. Mabel asked me to photograph the towers while she became the Statue of Liberty on her island behind them. It was not quite possible to get the whole effect into one picture, but the composite above gives some idea.
When we had embellished the towers as much as they would tolerate, we made moats around them at the bottom, using our socks. Mabel ran into her room and gathered a crew of small creatures and people who took turns swimming in the moats, or surfing on them.
