Mabel Watson Payne started out watching Daddy feed lettuce to a goat at Tilden Park's Little Farm in Berkeley on Mother's Day. A few minutes later she had become bold enough to be offering celery sticks with her own unassisted hand to her own chosen goat.
After the feeding of the goats came the feeding of the sheep.
