After the Nap
Mabel Watson Payne took a long nap on Monday afternoon after an entire morning of grueling work in the kitchen producing rack upon rack of Christmas cookies (see post below). So deeply does she sleep that the return to consciousness can only be accomplished in gradual stages.
Mabel's parents worked together to put her bright red socks back on.
And while we talked over the most feasible and desirable outing (for some fresh air and running around) she seized the moment to embellish a couple of drawings started earlier in the day.
