One dozen orphan images – mostly from holdings at the Tate – that have wandered into the folder called HOLDER – which is supposed to be temporary, a brief and small storage space for pictures I intend to use sooner rather than later. Each of these particular images might have sprouted shoots and gathered allies and morphed into part of a meaningful whole. Many single images in HOLDER do sprout and gather and morph in this way. But no embellishment or transformation occurred for this dozen. They are lonely ones, nevertheless held in esteem.
