Summer Polaroids
Twelve of my daughter's Polaroids are arranged here – one quick snip excerpted from Mabel's life each week over the past three months.
An unintended consequence of this chronology is the chance to see how the last remnants of outdated Polaroid film (more than five years past the expiration date) are beginning to play consistent tricks as degradation advances. Empty dark blobs of uncooperative chemicals descend from upper corners increasingly.
Yet summer is not altogether over. The next batch of Polaroids will include a mid-August high point – in the shape of Mabel's fourth birthday. Many keen preparations are already in motion.
