The hour has come. I'm heading home.

We take a cab to the airdrome

In time for the last brandy. 

I've kept my Kodak handy

To snap the last unfocused Kodachrome.

Our linen's at the laundromat.

What will become of the gray cat

I'd rather not conjecture.

As for my regular lecture

– Kindness to Animals – I'll spare you that.

But a near lightning sheets the brain.

I cannot take your hand for pain.

Your brows knit above lonely

Filling eyes. If only

I thought that I would look in them again!
