Rain in May
In other parts of the world all this rain in May would just seem like part of a normal spring, I'm sure, but in San Francisco it seems bizarre. Not unwelcome really, California can always use more water. It is already kind of miraculous how millions upon millions of water consumers manage to keep on consuming at high levels year in and year out in such an arid environment. But these long steady rains in the month of May are weird enough to dominate many daily conversations while they are going on, just like a new war or celebrity suicide would.
These bus stop photos will probably be appearing here more frequently than ever, too. Because my waits are clearly going to be longer after last week's new MUNI service cuts. So I can promise an even more intimate familiarity with the rich, untended corner of Golden Gate Park at Stanyan & Fulton.
