Greeting Card
In today's mail I received this holiday treat. Remember all those photos of Mabel Watson Payne we took in Union Square a while back? Never did one aspire, never did one dream that any such casual image derived from any such casual snapping might undergo an apotheosis such as this. Asymmetrical layout, crooked horizon, sans serif type – all classic sources of contemporary graphic vitality. Yet why then are they so much more here than merely attractive? Because of their noble purpose, of course. And that would be the foregrounding of this Entirely Unprecedented Miracle Baby (who is about to plunge right out of the picture in urgent merry motion).
