I know, there does seem to be an infinity of these Union Square views. But this will be the last of them. Probably they multiplied so lavishly because of the peculiarly favorable light (evenly distributed, with no shadows) on the overcast afternoon when we were there. Rain had fallen a short while earlier and would fall again a short while later. It didn't look like a very prepossessing atmosphere at the time, but then at the time I would also have been underestimating Mabel Watson Payne's ability to take complete possession of any such vast open spaces.
