Imi Knoebel, born in 1940, continues our series of German minimalists. He and his friend Blinky Palermo shared a studio when they were both students of legendary postmodern pioneer Joseph Beuys at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.
Now that I have gathered up samplings from both Imi Knoebel and Blinky Palermo it pleases me to ponder their back-and-forth influence on one another.
(The painting immediately above seems to link up all unintended to yesterday's Pantone images. Imi Knoebel painted it in 1994 and called it Grace KellyIII.)
