Prints and drawings by Rembrandt, 17th century

Etchings of human (or superhuman) intimacy made in Holland by Rembrandt during the middle of the 17th century. Such a wealth of this work survives (and the artist's style is so familiar) that eyes tend to slip casually over a succession of monochrome rectangles. But that mistake must be resisted.
