Bad But Nice
The last few times I participated at bath time, I did not even attempt to take pictures of Mabel Watson Payne, despite the unflagging charm of the subject and setting. Friday evening I spontaneously tried again. My reward was (first) the radioactive-orange above – so hideously fascinating in itself that any attempt at color correction seemed impertinent.
Also, had I not made this quixotic attempt (switching rapidly to black and white) I would have missed the moment when Mabel decided to lick the porcelain slope of the tub. "What are you doing?" her mother exclaimed.
