Spiffy new bike rack outside the remodeled and reopened Eureka Valley/Harvey Milk Branch of the San Francisco Public Library.
Directly across the street is the Gay Lib/AIDS Crisis mural created in 1998. I recently posted a couple of details from here. Clearly many hands made contributions and lots of different agendas were granted representation.
The nearest intersection is big and busy and complicated, with 16th Street and Noe each crossing Market at angles of their own. The traffic signals are confusing and cars making turns often behave as if deeply convinced they have the right-of-way when they don't. Pedestrians die here with some regularity and the drinkers on the balcony at the Lookout witness that and many other local dramas.
