Klapar
I visited only briefly with Mabel Watson Payne today in the course of running an errand for her mother, but she managed easily to compress the full pleasure of her company into a small slot of time. She even tried to eat my nose, and left miniature fingerprints all over my glasses. Her black-and-white bear used to be about the the same size she was, but has become smaller with every passing week. His name is Klapar.
On Valentine's Day itself she will be six months old. In celebration of that fact, this will be the weekend when my granddaughter tastes her first solid food. Rice cereal will be added to a diet that up to now has never departed from mother's milk.
