After a 14-year reign, John Galliano is no more at Christian Dior.
I thought he would stay there forever, or at least until I was past noticing.
Galliano's name had become something like an axiom in my private fashion vocabulary for the daring and the elegant – one or the other, sometimes both together –
– but it appears he made a drunken fool of himself (in public, on video) once too often and the businessmen in charge of Dior's parent-international-gigantic-conglomerate got together and concluded he had become more liability than asset.
