This weekend my days are packed full of tasks-to-do-before-I-leave-town and attempts-at-packing-for-the-flight-to-Rome plus necessary shopping forays and a welter of other preparatory rituals, and now in the evening I am sorry not to have had a chance to visit with Mabel Watson Payne so I am making up for the deficit by revisiting a few of my favorite spots (revised as black & whites) in her brief but endlessly endearing photo-history.
