This was the first picture I took after arriving on Friday morning for the second day of keeping company with Mabel Watson Payne, a sunnier and warmer day than the day before. Mabel had already picked out her outfit and put it on (with some help) – the pink shirt with red dots, the brown jumper with pink dots, and the blue T-shirt (an unexpected note to unify the whole). She was ready for a busy, fun day and that is what we had. Details will follow, of course, with glimpses of at least a few of the many adventures into which this child's inexhaustible reserves of energy and curiosity propelled us.
