Many tiny plots in front of houses in my San Francisco neighborhood are ornamented with these "trumpet trees." They always bloom exactly at the same time that apricots appear in the produce markets. Gardener friends have patiently repeated the proper Latin name for me on several occasions, but I am just as bad with plant names as with people names. Only because I googled "bell shaped flowers" just now can I report that it is called Brugmansia.
