Suicide of Cleopatra

"The semi-nude figure of Cleopatra is based on that of Potiphar's wife in the Joseph and Potiphar's Wife in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC, painted at the beginning of 1649, though her pose and attire are slightly varied.  She is even closer in these respects to her counterpart in Guercino's earlier Suicide of Cleopatra in the Palazzo Rosso, Genoa, painted in 1648.
