Cameron's alternative Whisper of the Muse (below) is not represented at the Ashmolean Museum. The small group of Cameron prints in Oxford intrigued me because the figures and poses were familiar, but usually not quite identical to versions I had previously seen elsewhere. The cropping, the inconsistent developing processes, the choice of shots for varying purposes, and the very nature of Mrs. Cameron's impulsive practice, all conspired to introduce idiosyncrasies into every print she made.
