This will be the last post (for now) indulging the swash-loving eye in the work of John Singer Sargent (1856-1925), portrayed above by his colleague Giovanni Boldoni (1842-1931) whose work was similar to Sargent's, but more superficial. Wits of the day said that Sargent was the Master of Swash and Boldoni the Master of Swish. Everything below is by Sargent. One of these days Boldoni will get his turn here too, no doubt.
