Visit
Mabel came over with her parents to visit me in the Mission. First, she had a drink of milk in the kitchen. On the refrigerator she noticed her own large painting held up by magnets. It arrived for me in the mail only a few days ago. The painting shows Mabel's Castle as a large continent in the middle and it shows Grandpa's Castle as a small island in the lower right corner.
Over the milk we started talking about drawing and painting, and soon were pulling out all the (scant) art supplies in the house.
.
Mabel decorated a piece of packing material. She approved when I found a roll of duct tape in a drawer. School had taught her that duct tape could be torn evenly along its length. She tore narrow strips of duct tape and used them to attach her foam creature to the refrigerator door.
