At the last minute, just leaving the house on Wednesday afternoon, Mabel remembered to grab a couple of small sand toys that we could squash into what is still called the "diaper bag" but no longer contains diapers. All the same it is a bag full of many things (water bottles, sunscreen, extra clothes, first-aid kit, and on and on) which left only room enough for a plastic spade and a few small tubs. But Mabel loves to dig, and this was all the equipment she needed.
