Downtown


Mabel Watson Payne and I were on our way to Yerba Buena Gardens to admire the thundering waterfall there and play in the fountains and get disgracefully wet. It was a warm afternoon. As we strolled along she would point out various interesting bits of merchandise in the display windows and we would talk about what she noticed (mostly bags) . Then we saw our reflections in this black glass slab built into the facade of Banana Republic's flagship San Francisco store. We decided to take a picture. The one above was about the sixth try. Reflections baffle me. In one of the first attempts (below) I actually managed to obscure my granddaughter's entire face.
