Guercino Landscape 1630s |
The landscape drawing above is in the Rijskmuseum where it is identified as the work of the Italian baroque painter Guercino (1591-1666). Because of its surpassing beauty this landscape-made-with-a-simple-pen commands prominence in this gathering-together of favored Italian drawings now scattered by time and chance among many museums.
