Continuing with the autobiography of Carmel Snow (already mentioned here) I find her giving his first job to Richard Avedon, fresh out of the Merchant Marine in 1945. I then stumbled (here) on this complete Avedon spread from a 1957 issue of Bazaar featuring summer frocks as modeled by Audrey Hepburn.
